After working eight years in local television, McCann went national as a freelance anchor, reporter and host. You'll see her on the sidelines reporting college football for the ESPN family of networks, covering the Big East, ACC and FCS teams. She also works as a pregame, halftime show host and sideline reporter for ESPN's Thursday night Texas high school football on Verizon.
Rontina is a versatile talent with a passion for sports and storytelling.
In the past decade, Rontina has covered breaking news from the Virginia Tech shootings to the death of Bengals receiver Chris Henry to every major type of sports event, including: NASCAR Series Championships, college bowl games, NCAA Tournaments, NFL Playoffs and the Superbowl, MLB Postseason, World Series and the NBA Finals.
She has delivered live reports and coverage from: NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Truck Series; IndyCar, MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, PGA, MLS, Big 12, Big East, ACC, SEC and Big 10 sports events. She has also covered high school sports in Texas, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia and Pennsylvania.
McCann is an alumna of the P.I. Reed School of Journalism at West Virginia University. While at WVU, she worked for Mountaineer Football, Student Organization Services and the Daily Athenaeum.
